Make It Stop
by Karla ° Wednesday, March 19, 2008
Have been busy visiting friends and living vicariously through one very adorable pregnant belly and the the nom nom, cheek-pinching cuteness of another girlfriend’s baby.

Will be back once all this baby fever has left my brain.

If I’m not back soon, like say, tomorrow, somebody please slap me, preferably hard and repeatedly, to knock some sense into me. Because I'm about as ready to be pregnant again as I am willing to flush my head in the toilet.

Have fun!! We spaced our kids 3.5 years apart. We were aiming for four, but got a little surprise only 2 weeks after talking about the perfect time to get pregnant. Someone decided we don't have complete control over that!!

I'm still in that stage where the memory of late pregnancy and Sadie's labour/birth cause me to sing to her in a sweet, lullaby voice, "You're going to be an only child, an only child...!"

But I get it. I can't believe I didn't do this sooner and I can't imagine her not being this little and adorable.

Would love to hear the news that you're trying again!

Miss ya, Chiquits. xo

I know the feeling, there seems to be babies and pregnant woman everywhere at the moment and a few of my friends are pregnant or just had babies...I will check back with you tomorrow and if you are not here I will have to send a slap all the way from England (can you send slaps via the internet??????). I am sure that you will know when it feels right to have another baby (until then, have fun practising - hehe!!)..
Take care, Tabitha X

LOL...I probably won't be any help to you my kids are all about the 22 months apart including the one I am currently expecting (praying all goes well) and this is #4!!!!

But if you need a good slap I can send you video of my three year old screaming for about 15 minutes! That usually does the trick for all my friends and family..hehehe

I know the feeling. My baby is 10 weeks old and I am already planning my next pregnancy. I have a feeling that this fever of yours will not go away any time soon until you see that + sign on the pregnancy test!

Those hormones will make us think some crazy things! Here's your slap and a kick in the butt.

I'd slap you but I'm in the same want *babieeees* state. Plus, you clearly make adorable children, so why not go for another? My brother and I are only 15 months apart so I can vouch for closeness in age, but already Nate and the next would be much further than that, so why not? Right?
Um, I mean, don't get knocked up! You can't have wine! Delicious, delicious wine!

The not-quite-yet-married-nor-preggers one shouts:

"Oysters! Get your oysters here! Double latte with espresso shots to the right; spicy salmon sashimi to your left!"

I smile cheekily at you over a glass of white wine and salad with feta cheese.

There. Was that better than a swirly? ;)

I love wine. Still, that doesn't stop the ache in my empty uterus. I don't care if I know it's "irrational" and we're "not ready" and "OMG! Trips! We have more trips to take before baby!" What I know is - I'm 27. I've been married 2 years to a man I adore. I want a baby. All my friends' babies don't help. I cannot be satisfied with this so called "baby fix". I want one of my own. I feel your ache. Hang in there - or hey! Have another! :) Nate is gorgeous, and so was sweet Ava.

I hear you. I feel like I am surrounded by pregnant women and mothers with cute newborns. My son was born two weeks after yours. I am with barbie though, I need a few more months to enjoy some post-weaning wine, beer, margarita, etc and some goat cheese, some sushi...

I'm not good in this realm, so intoxicated am I by this whole trip. Good luck fending it off.

Personally, I think you'll be happier if you get pregnant when you're not "trying". You know you'll love any babies you have at any time.

I am seeing babies everywhere, it seems. I know how you feel.

But then I like to remind myself that I get to leave, and they have to deal with the diapers and screaming and all that.

It makes me feel a bit better.
