Antenna
by Karla ° Saturday, April 12, 2008
I asked Mark to pick up some of his stuff that was sitting on the kitchen counter because it was starting to bother me, and he all, “Bother you? Really?”

And then he poked me in the ear with his balloon antennas.

The close-up Flickr photo of Nate with those two perfect bottom teeth is beyond cute.

I'm surprised his spiky hair doesn't burst the balloon antennas.

Does anyone else think the shirt with the antenna makes him look like a bumble bee?

You seem like such a great family- full of love and happiness. And you all deserve it too. :)

The balloon antennas are just what my husband would do too! I love being married to someone who isn't afraid to get goofy. Especially when it makes my kids laugh the deep belly laughs we all love.

So, Karla, April 14th is almost gone in Launceston, Tasmania, but I wanted to let you know that today I went to town and bought a lovely pink and silver balloon and walked with it to one of the prettiest parks I've found here. It's on the water, the grass is green, the leaves are changing, the sun was shining across the water, the sky was perfectly blue, people were walking their dogs and children were playing. It all sounds so cliche, but, man, it's pretty down there. I let go of the balloon, with a "Godspeed, Ava" and watched the balloon until I couldn't see it anymore. When it was high enough in the sky, it looked just like a bright star, only, in the bluest of daytime skies. The sunset was so pretty tonight, too, so, she's always around.. I believe that. She's the pink and orange and red and silver in a perfect sunset.
I promise that I'll do this every April 14th, wherever I am, for as long as I live.
I posted about my day today.. I hope that's okay with you.
I know that this day won't be easy, but you're awesome, and I know you can get through it.
:)
