Matchy Matchy
by Karla ° Sunday, January 28, 2007
Straight from a local retail sales rack and an online ebay auction, Mom and Son duo look surprisingly lame in their matching winter apparel.

While mom sports a floor length faux shearling jacket, baby Nate is rockin’ his unshapely faux suede bunting bag that is also large enough to fit a Guatemalan sea cow.

Today a huge barrier was broken down. For the first time since Ava died, I finally held another baby and was not overcome with jealous rage and burning tears.

Meet my four month old Nephew and my bra strap.

I just imagine Nate "talking" to all the other babies he'll meet and sing to them,,,,,"Don't you wish your mommy was hot like mineee, don't you wish your mommy had milk like mineeeeeeee, don'tcha??? Hey don'tchaaaa? (giggling) Girl you are the most beautiful mommy ever. If you weren't younger than me, I'd say adopt me!

Hi Karla,

I am the one on your stats that has spent the past two days at your site reading.. well.. almost your entire story. I have left a few comments, but I am so compelled to write again. Your story is so touching and it is such an amazing thing that you have shared this with so many people.

Cuteness abounds!

Well, at least the bunting will be around for a while, right? He'll already be walking, and you will be trying to put him in it still, to get the money's worth out of it. ;)

Karla I am so glad you were able to hold your nephew! That is fabulous!

Love the mommy and baby winter gear!

OMG my son had one of those bundle me bags also. And Karla...baby steps sweety, baby steps. I am so happy that you were finally able to hold another baby but no matter what, they are your feelings and your heart and if they were what you needed to feel then I am very glad for you and glad that you are taking steps to a brand new Karla. Your son is going to learn so many amazing things from you!

I'm glad you're feeling better about Ava :-)

You guys definitely look cozy :-)

I'm glad for you Karla.

I think I might have to stop reading your blog because seeing these babies just makes me want another one SOO badly!!!! :)

They are adorable, and your bra strap isn't too bad either! ;)

My reaction when I saw the first pic...AWWWWWWW...second pic....AWWWWWW! Wouldn't have noticed the bra strap.

Congratulations on crossing that barrier. You will never never never forget Ava, we know, but hopefully more and more you will remember her only with happiness and not with devastation.

Keep the pics coming! As you know, your fans are waiting!

Cutie Cutie!

So glad to hear your ripped and torn heart isn't quite so raw anymore and some things are getting easier.

I echo Cinnalily's comments and hope that with each passing day you will be able to remember Ava only with happiness and not with devastation.

Love and hugs C

In nine years my relationship with my niece (who was born a month before our daughter was due) is still a bit stilted because I wonder what Emily would be like now... I can hug her, but never once was able to hold her, even after our son was born a year later. I commend you for your strength in that respect. Matching Mommy/Baby outfits are Cute!!! and a great way to embarass him in front of his formal date!!!!
