Like Father Like Son
by Karla ° Friday, March 30, 2007
My Mother-in-Law is the Queen of Family Heirlooms and All things Sentimental. She is also the Master of the Lemon Meringue Pie.

So it really should have come as no surprise to me that the last time we visited her she pulled Mark’s first baby outfit out of storage. But - as soon as she did I panicked. Not because it wasn’t cute, or because it was made of circa 1970’s polyester. No, I panicked because I am in desperate need of a new wardrobe and I have been trying to convince Mark that clothing evaporates into thin air after a couple of years and that is why I need more to avoid random public acts of nakedness.

My cover has been blown.

But at least I have these pictures for posterity.

Aww, how sweet is that?! A son wearing his father's outfit from when he was a baby! I'll have to keep a couple of my son's outfits for his sons, if he has them. =D

Wow, the resemblance is amazing!!! They could pass as twins. That is a really cute idea to keep an outfit to pass down. So cute!!

How fun!

I don't think either of our parents kept our clothes, but I did keep my 2 childrens "coming home" outfits!!

Hopefully they will share them with their kids too.

When a friend's son was born her mother-in-law brought over a bunch of her hubby's clothes from childhood. She told me later that they looked something Evil Knievil would wear!

Nate, however, looks so adorable. A great idea! Kudos to mom-in-law!

Oh how cute is he? And how funny that he's wearing his daddy's first outfit? There definitely some similarities between them, huh? Love the pics...Very cute.

Wow, now that is just too cute!!!! My mom saved all the cute dresses from my sister and myself. But we have four boy and no girls so nobody has got to wear the stuff yet.

Very cool. I've kept many of my babies special outfits so someday hopefully he'll be able to do the same with his kids.

Nate get cuter every day!

Yup, they look almost exactly alike, and it isn't just the outfits.

Awww, so much like Daddy. Will you, or have you already, share(d) a photo of you as a baby?

OMG - they look so alike! That is so cute that his mom kept an outfit of his. I happened to have been going through baby clothes today for both my kids and still kept a couple of things just for memories' sake. What a cute post!

Huh, I must be alone. I was just thinking they don't look very much alike, even though I think Nate looks a lot like Mark. Oh, what do I know, though!
