Of High-Fiving and Somersaults
by Karla ° Wednesday, February 20, 2008
So, how can you tell if someone was a pet owner before a commander of kids? Easy – they teach both the pint-sized human and the fur-covered mammal the same tricks.

Except maybe for the part where Nate’s doing somersaults. Samson hasn’t quite mastered how to roll over on his head yet, but we’re working on it. He’s just having a hard time on account of his elbows and torso being in all the wrong places.

Also, no need to worry about pointing out what a hot little number my red slippers and pink pants make. I am so in the know on that one. Or not.

Ridiculously cute, Karla. I'm wondering who would have graduated valedictorian out of Samson and Nate at puppy training.....
Cute, cute, cute.

Nate is such a cutie pie (and the doggie too!!)X

Oh Karla, I just love watching your little boy grow. He is the cutest child I've ever seen, other than my own of course!!! He is just such a little looker. Alright...Sampson, too!

The pet/child distinction can be a difficult one. When I became an aunt I used to try to get my niece to come with me by making that clicking "come here" noise you use for dogs and patting my leg. I never even realized this until my family started making fun of me.

too stinkin cute. I need to work with Boston and Snuggles on their "tricks!" Your "kids" are pretty good!

Both your boys are cute!

Yep, my dogs and my son can do "high five" too. :-)

Adorable. We don't let our four month old son watch TV at all, but while I was watching Nate and Samson do tricks, I looked over and realized that The Boy was staring at the screen with THE BIGGEST GRIN on his face. So be proud that your well-trained offspring broke our sancti-parent rules, and that they gave a little TV deprived boy such pleasure, albeit temporary.
