Blast from the past: MC Hammer Pants Style
by Karla ° Monday, March 30, 2009
These pants where all the rage back when I was in grade five, or six, I don’t remember exactly but man oh man I’m pretty embarrassed I have kept them all these years. And for what? To wake up one morning and say to myself, self, I am going to find my 20 year old MC Hammer pants and then post a ridiculous photo of me wearing them on my blog.

Yes, these über cool MC Hammer pants are actually emblazoned with signatures and neon-coloured drawings from my friends. I know! I'm shocked I had any friends too considering how much of a dweeb I must have been to allow myself to become a walking yearbook. God, at least I had the self dignity not to allow anyone to sign my crotch.

It also appears that I may have grown a few inches taller over the years and learned basic grammar.

Those pants kick ass! I remember having people sign stuff- binders, yearbooks of course and shoes, even but never pants. You were clearly Cooler Than I Was. Which I am okay with. Awesome post.

Great pictures Karla!
I wish that I had kept some of my stuff from years ago ~ but I don't think I have anything left.
There was a picture in one of the fashion mags over here in the UK ~ and it was of a pair of MC Hammer trousers and apparently they are back in fashion!!??
Maybe I will miss that trend this time around ha ha XXX

I can see how you'd want to keep the pants, not for style reasons, but for the signatures and memories associated with those friends.

Lol! That's hilarious....especially the "Pease"....Lol!!! I LOVE finding like old notes that I wrote to my friends etc., and all of the outrageous spelling mistakes! It's priceless.

And it would seem that you wore them enough to wear a hole in the knee or knees. Or was that the style too? I'm kind of happy to say that I missed that bit of fashion.
Nice socks!

I totally had a pair of these in grade school as well. My aunt made them for me and they were white with blue polka dots. My two sisters had their own pairs, one was with neon orange polka dots and the other neon green. Unlike you, we have totally lost those over the years! Those pants look like they were worn often when you were younger. This post is hilarious!
