Big Bad Belly Shots - 16 Weeks |
For the love of cheese and a ceaseless supply of cantaloupe and pineapples, I have ballooned to a total of nine pounds of pure elephantine stomach stretching proportions.
If this pregnancy progresses anything like my first (which it seems to be), then packing on the pounds up front seems to be the way my body likes to gestate and carry the ankle-biters of the future.
Speaking of the future, on December 22nd of this year, I will be welcoming little bubs into this world via an elective c-section. I couldn’t ask for a more memorable or cherished Christmas gift. Really, I’m weepy at the thought of being discharged and bringing baby home on Christmas day.
Because I am actually feeling rather good today, I braved the camera and in keeping with tradition from Ava’s Pregnancy Blog, the Big Belly Belly shots are back.
Yes, that's how my cami actually fits now, and yes, I actually walk around the house like that.

I'd say he's growing :) I hope you'll share lots of pictures like this and keep a collection for this baby.
You look fantastic and elephantine wouldn't be the first would I would think of, but OK, I'll go along with you. ;) That is a fantastic time of year to have a baby. Andrew was born December 20th. They put all the babies in Christmas stockings and took pictures. There is this song, 'Mary Did You Know' that I heard Christmas day. I remember hearing the words, holding my precious baby boy and sobbing. Some of the words:
Did you know that your baby boy has walked where angels trod? When you kiss your little baby, you kiss the face of God! Oh Mary did you know?
God bless your growing family!
If I had a body like yours, I'd show off my belly too! Beautiful!
I've got a pretty nice belly myself.
Yeah, yeah, let me know when your belly gets big! Elephantine...poosha! Well, of course, I start out big, so I guess that doesn't help, eh? You're such a cutie! I just want to eat you up!

You really aren't that big. Did you photoshop the pictures or something, tee,hee.. A Christmas time baby sounds pretty cool but if you held off until the 26th you would save money on presents..
No my friend, I think you look wonderful. And why not walk around the house looking like that?
And hold on, is that your remodeled bathroom I am seeing?
You look fabulous Karla!
I love that you are posting the belly pictures!
What a fabulous Christmas gift this year!
You are teeny and adorable and sporting some pretty fabulous jeans for a preggo.
I am so anxious and excited for you, Karla.
These pictures make it so real.

You look fabulous!! Looks like that baby is growing well.
M son was a Christmas baby. He was born exactly one week before, and they put him in a big red christmas stocking to take his pic. (he had IV's in his hand, so they wanted to hide them). This will be a most memorable season for you this year!!
Nine pounds, huh? What did that do, double your total body weight? Please! Looking good though.
